Tuition fee

Tuition fee is the fee set by MAV – Academy of Movement Acting Voice to be paid for the whole semester at MAV.

The invoice will be sent to you by e-mail. The tuition fee (including Swedish VAT) must be paid by the final day of payment stated on the invoice.

Registration fee

Once you have been accepted to the program and wish to accept the offer, you will have to pay a registration fee consisting of 10% of the tuition fee at MAV.

Dates for the last day of resignation and last day of paying the registration fee will be given in the Confirmation of Enrollment e-mail. The registration fee will be deducted from the tuition fee.

If you do not wish to accept the offer and fail to give notice in time, Berghs will invoice you the registration fee of 10%. The registration fee is non-refundable.

Once you have started the program you have also agreed to pay the full tuition fee.

Payment

It is always the student who has the financial responsibility towards the school. For example, if your employer is covering the cost but does not fulfill its liability to the school, the payment responsibility is transferred to you personally.

The invoice of the registration fee and tuition fee should be settled at the specified date, at the latest. A reminder of payment is charged with a fee of 150 SEK and interest rate (base rate +8%). An unpaid registration fee and/or course fee on specified date may result in the loss of the student’s right to participate in the program.

All participants, both Swedish and international, must pay Swedish VAT according to Swedish tax legislation.

Reimbursement of tuition fee

Paid tuition fees are non-refundable. Exceptions can be given in situations of long-term illness, supported by a medical certificate, and an application should be made in writing to MAV – Academy of Movement Acting Voice.

Study break

Study break is not granted but might be approved due to long-term illness and shall then be confirmed by medical certificate.

The right to make changes

MAV reserves the right to make changes within the semester at MAV.

We cannot take responsibility for changes in the terms and conditions that may be applied by our partner institutions in other countries. It will therefore be your responsibility to take note of and follow them when you begin your studies abroad. In the event of an insufficient number of participants, MAV reserves the right to cancel a program or a course.

Studies are to be done during the semester you are enrolled in. Study break is only allowed in case of illness and shall be confirmed by a medical certificate.

Swedish VAT-rules:

When studying on-site at Berghs in Stockholm, all participants, both Swedish and international, must pay Swedish VAT according to Swedish tax legislation.

New VAT rules apply to online courses/online programs in Sweden:

Outside the EU:

If the buyer is living in a country outside of the EU, no Swedish VAT will be charged. It is the buyer’s own responsibility to find out what VAT laws apply in their own country.

In the EU:

If the buyer is living in a country within the EU, 25% Swedish VAT applies only if you receive the invoice as a non-taxable person (e.g private individual).

If a taxable entity, e.g. company, purchases the course/program, no Swedish VAT will be charged provided that MAV receives the company’s VAT number for administrative purpose (if the number is not provided, Swedish VAT will be added to the invoice). It is the company’s responsibility to pay VAT in their own country in relation to their own laws (”Reverse Charge”).
