Here are some of the most common questions we receive. Of course, feel free to contact us if you have any other questions, or if you have an idea for an answer we should add to this page!

How many hours per day am I expected to participate in the course?

6-8 hours.

Are course dates flexible?

No.

Do I get feedback on my work?

Continuously.

Do I get a certificate at the end of the course?

Yes.

What does it take to complete the course?

Participate.

What does it take to get accepted?

You must have upper secondary education or equivalent work experience within a performing arts field such as theater, dance, music or movement.

Why can one application be rejected?

If you don’t fulfill the requirements as stated above, or if the staff of MAV deems that you are otherwise unfit to participate, your application can be rejected. This is because we offer workshops within further education.

What do I need to bring with me to the workshop?

The only ”must” is training clothes (see below). You can also bring pen and paper if you wish to make notes, a camera if you wish to film specific exercises, snacks to keep up energy (please avoid known allergenics), and something to drink or drink from (tap water in Sweden is excellent drink water).

What should I wear?

Clothes that are comfortable to move in, indoor training shoes or dance shoes, and an outer layer that is quick to put on and off, to keep warm between passes.

Do I need to fix my own lunch?

If you wish, you can have lunch at First Hotel Dragonen at a discounted price. You are free to get your lunch from wherever you choose.

Where do I live during the workshop?

Participants of this workshop are offered accommodation and food from First Hotel Dragonen in Umeå. You are free to find accommodation and food elsewhere.
